Smart Money vs Tourist Cost BasisTRINITY EXCLUSIVE
EXCLUSIVE - BTC price and cost bases of Smart Money and Tourist cohorts. Trinity proprietary classification.
Trinity exclusive model
This metric is a proprietary Trinity Insights model. Its formula, inputs, weights and parameters are NOT disclosed. The page documents only the output (bounded scale, interpretation zones, historical context). Access to the score and its time series is via the REST API and the MCP server, subject to the required tier.
What is it?
This chart compares Bitcoin price with the cost basis of Smart Money and Tourist cohorts. These cohorts describe different acquisition contexts through a proprietary classification whose construction is not published. Each line places the cohort's profit or loss regime in context; this reading complements coin-age cohorts.
How to read
Read each cost-basis line against BTC price. Above a line, price exceeds the corresponding cohort's cost basis; below it, price is lower. Between the two lines, price exceeds one cost basis and remains below the other. This places aggregate positions in unrealized profit or loss without describing every holder or their transactions.
Key zones
Above both lines: price exceeds both cost bases. Between the lines: price exceeds one cost basis and is below the other. Below both lines: price is below both cost bases. These zones describe relative price position without establishing holders' intentions or emotions.
What to observe
Watch price crossings above or below each line and how long they persist. Compare the separation and ordering of the two cohort cost bases. A crossing describes a change in relative position; these series measure neither realized sales nor holders' decisions.
Historical context
Cost bases evolve with the acquisitions represented in each cohort. Comparing them with price places aggregate positions in their time context. A line crossing alone cannot date a cycle bottom or top or establish a holder reaction.
Expert notes
⚠️ Trinity Exclusive Model - Smart Money and Tourist classification is not published. These names identify neither known individuals nor a fixed holding duration. Also read Realized Price by Age Cohort to compare perspectives.
Common mistakes to avoid
A single line cannot represent the full cost dispersion within a cohort. A price crossing a line predicts nothing - it confirms a market condition already underway. Use these levels as macro attention markers, not as dollar-precise supports.
