Top 90 Channels by Total Video Count (YouTube)
Snapshot ranking of the 90 crypto channels by lifetime video count. Production volume reflects content velocity — high counts = creators racing to capture attention.
What is it?
When markets move violently, creators rush to upload reaction content. This histogram tracks daily videos published across the 90-channel basket. Spike days = market-event response days (crashes, ATHs, halvings, regulatory news). Baseline = normal publishing cadence. The shape of the histogram reveals which days creators saw as 'narratively important' independent of price.
How to read
Daily histogram bars. Baseline ~150-250 videos/day (90 channels × ~2 videos/week each). Spikes > 400/day = market event response. Spikes > 600/day = extreme event (FTX, ETF approval, halving). Bars below 100/day = creator dormancy (typically mid-deep bear).
Key zones
Bear baseline : 100-180 daily uploads. Bull mid : 200-300/day. Late-cycle FOMO : 350-500/day. Event spike : > 600/day (rare). Sustained > 400/day for 4+ weeks = sustained narrative momentum, usually late-cycle phase.
What to observe
Creator activity LEADS subscriber growth by 1-3 weeks (creators ramp output before audience floods in). Sustained spikes 4-8 weeks pre-cycle-top = late-cycle hype machine. Creator collapse (uploads < 80/day for 8+ weeks) = deep capitulation phase, often correlates with cycle bottom prep.
Historical context
April-May 2021 saw upload counts spike above 700/day on FOMO peaks. November 2022 FTX week hit ~620/day. January 2024 ETF approval week hit ~580/day. The mid-2022 to mid-2023 trough hit ~80-120/day sustained = the longest creator dormancy on record.
Expert notes
Creator publishing frequency is a leading indicator of audience engagement. Trinity's data pipeline pulls upload counts daily from YouTube per channel and aggregates. The metric is robust because individual channel cadence noise averages out across 90 channels. Future Trinity could add 'viral video' detection (single video > 1M views in 24h) as a separate event marker.
Common mistakes to avoid
More uploads = bigger market move coming ❌. Upload spikes are REACTIVE to events, not predictive. A spike day correlates with what creators perceive as a big event — which usually maps to what already happened. Treat as confirmation of narrative intensity, not as price forecasting tool.
