What is it?
This chart stacks daily pageviews of four English Wikipedia articles: Non-fungible token (NFT), Web3, Smart contract and Decentralized finance (DeFi). Each band represents the recorded consultations of one article. The data describe article traffic rather than a technology’s stage of development.
How to read
The thickness of each band is its article’s daily pageview count. Total height is the sum of daily pageviews across the four articles. Compare a band’s thickness across dates to see whether its consultations rose or fell. A thicker band means more article views on that date, without identifying readers or their financial activity.
Key zones
Read low and high counts relative to each article’s displayed history. A total below 5,000 means fewer than 5,000 consultations of the four articles on that day. This count does not classify the market or locate a cycle turning point.
What to observe
Observe peaks, quieter intervals and changes shared by several articles. One band can rise while another falls. Capital rotation and any lead or lag relative to it are not measured by these pageviews.
Historical context
Compare earlier and recent pageview counts using the same article and daily unit. Article creation dates and data availability can differ; the first available point is the beginning of the displayed observations, not the birth of the underlying concept.
Expert notes
The four articles cover NFT, Web3, Smart contract and DeFi. Stacking compares their view counts; the total height is the sum of those volumes, without percentage normalization. An isolated daily peak can be seen in the series, but its cause is not identified by the pageview count alone.
Common mistakes to avoid
Article consultations do not measure unique readers, market capitalization, invested capital or technology usage. A falling band does not establish that a concept has disappeared or reached maturity. Several consultations can come from the same reader.
