How to read

Multi-line. All 3 lines should slope steeply upward post-2023 if L2 narrative is live. Base (Coinbase-backed) launched August 2023 - its trajectory reveals corporate L2 adoption.

Pre-2022 : <1K stars each. 2022-2023 : 2K-5K stars each (early adopters). 2024+ : 5K-15K+ each (mainstream L2 narrative). Base trajectory steepest (Coinbase distribution).

What to observe

L2 stars rising while Ethereum stars flat = L2 narrative active. L2 stars decelerating = builder thesis fading. Base growth disproportionate = Coinbase corporate-backed L2 thesis validated.

The fact that Base (newest) catches up with Arbitrum (oldest) in 2 years is a corporate-distribution effect - not pure builder merit. Stars measure builder attention, not on-chain usage - cross-validate with independent on-chain activity indicators.
