Cross-Exchange Asset Compare Snapshot
Live comparison BTC/ETH/SOL across 30+ venues — funding, OI, volume, spread, trust score simultaneously.
What is it?
Comparative snapshot table listing all exchange venues offering BTC perpetuals, with for each one: last USD-converted price, 24h USD-converted volume, bid-ask spread in %, quality trust score (green/yellow/red based on liquidity + regulation + transparency). Table sorted by 24h volume descending, filtered to minimum 'green' trust score by default. Answers instantly 'on which exchange should I execute my BTC trade right now?' by comparing dozens of venues side-by-side. Note: multi-asset coverage (ETH, SOL, etc.) is scheduled for V1.1 — currently only the BTC asset is served by the backend.
How to read
Column axis: Exchange, Pair, Last Price USD, Volume 24h USD, Spread %, Trust Score. Default sort: 24h volume descending. Top of list = maximum liquidity, likely best execution price. Bid-ask spread < 0.05% = excellent (institutional grade), 0.05-0.3% = good (retail-friendly), > 0.3% = caution (likely slippage on large orders). Green trust score = regulated + transparent exchange with reserves audit. Also compare price across venues — divergence > 0.5% = short-term spot arbitrage opportunity.
Key zones
Typical historical spread on BTC perpetual: 0.01-0.05% in normal conditions on top-tier exchanges. Spread > 0.2% may indicate liquidity stress (post macro events or flash crashes). 24h volume ≥ 1 B$ = Tier 1 exchange (Binance/Coinbase/Bybit/OKX), 100 M$-1 B$ = Tier 2 (Kraken/Bitfinex/Huobi/Gate), < 100 M$ = Tier 3 (regional or exotic). Green trust score on ≥80% of major venues historically = stable market state.
What to observe
Priority watch: (1) price divergences > 0.5% between Tier 1 exchanges = spot arbitrage opportunity (rare due to trading bots), (2) bid-ask spread suddenly widening on 1 venue = local liquidity stress, (3) trust score changing from green to yellow = early warning indication on exchange health (check recent audit), (4) 24h volume dropping suddenly on 1 venue while stable on others = exchange-specific issue (maintenance? incident?), (5) appearance of new green venues in table = crypto offer expansion (typically positive for adoption).
Historical context
FTX Nov 2022: before its collapse, FTX was ranked green trust score with top 5 worldwide volume. Its demise demonstrated that CoinGecko trust score reflects observable state but does not guarantee solvency — must be cross-validated with on-chain proof of reserves and independent audits. January 2024: US spot BTC ETF approval → massive expansion of 'BTC/USD perp' offer on Coinbase Derivatives and CME, lastingly modifying Tier 1 venues mix. May 2025: Coinbase acquisition of Deribit → consolidation of institutional options venues. These events each time redistributed cross-exchange compare table.
Expert notes
CoinGecko trust score is an observable heuristic (liquidity + declared regulation + operational transparency) — it is not a financial audit or solvency certificate. For critical institutional decisions, cross-validate with: (1) on-chain Proof of Reserves (Trinity verifiable), (2) official regulator status (CySEC, MAS, etc.), (3) incidents and resolutions history (web search). This chart is complementary to Funding Rate Outliers Live (CG-DER-02) — green trust score venue + extreme funding = quality squeeze setup.
Common mistakes to avoid
Mistake 1: believing that highest 24h volume = best execution. FALSE — volume inflated by wash trading degrades quality (check trust score). Mistake 2: believing tight spread = deep liquidity. PARTIALLY TRUE — top-of-book spread does not guarantee depth on 100 BTC order (check orderbook depth separately). Mistake 3: using this chart as directional analytical reading. NO — it is a snapshot comparator for execution decision, not a bull/bear directional indication.
