Trinity Composite Score (Trinity Composite Score)
The Trinity Composite Score is Trinity's flagship on-chain synthesis. Rather than asking a reader to interpret many separate on-chain metrics in parallel, it distils the on-chain picture into one bounded 0-100 score. A low reading frames the extreme-fear end, the levels historically associated with market troughs; a high reading frames the euphoria end, the levels associated with tops. It is designed to be read as a relative position in market history, not as a forecast or as a buy or sell trigger.
Concept overview
The Trinity Composite Score is Trinity's flagship on-chain synthesis. Rather than asking a reader to interpret many separate on-chain metrics in parallel, it distils the on-chain picture into one bounded 0-100 score. A low reading frames the extreme-fear end, the levels historically associated with market troughs; a high reading frames the euphoria end, the levels associated with tops. It is designed to be read as a relative position in market history, not as a forecast or as a buy or sell trigger.
Phase interpretation (0-100 scale)
- 0-20Extreme fear
- 20-40Moderate fear
- 40-60Neutral
- 60-80Optimism
- 80-100Euphoria
These bands are interpretive: they are read as a position, never as a buy or sell trigger.
Historical context
The score is calibrated on its own history, which is what makes it comparable across cycles: a reading taken in a past cycle and the same reading today describe the same degree of relative extreme, despite price levels that bear no relation to each other. Read across the four completed Bitcoin cycles (2013, 2017, 2021 and the current one), it has historically drifted toward its upper band during euphoric expansions and toward its lower band during deep bear markets.
Strengths & limitations
The Trinity Composite Score excels at compressing a multi-dimensional on-chain picture into one legible reading and at making that reading comparable across cycles. Its limitation is the flip side of that strength: as a synthesis it smooths away the granular detail of any single dimension, so it is best read alongside the underlying on-chain readings rather than in isolation.
Why the formula is not disclosed
Trinity Composite Score is a proprietary Trinity Insights analytical model. Its exact formula, inputs, weights, windows and number of components are not disclosed (EXCLUSIVE Trinity). Only the bounded 0-100 reading and its interpretation are exposed. Access is via the Trinity Insights dashboard (Performance tier or above), the MCP server and the REST API.
